Within the raw earth of Iga lie stones — and in the kiln, those stones burst. Where they opened, clay was pressed in to fill the void. Yet rather than a repair, it reads as something far more natural — a landscape that has simply always belonged to this chawan, seamless and whole.
The nature of the raw earth may allow moisture to seep through at times. This is not a flaw, but a testament — proof that the earth itself became the vessel, just as it is.
